Nightlife on the Big Island of Hawaii

The Big Island is not known for its nightlife. In fact the local folks are early to bed, early to rise. But, if you want to party down, you can find some places to do just that — a few discos offering dancing in Hilo and some fun clubs on the Kona/Kohala coast.

Nightlife doesn’t have to mean drinking and dancing; there are many ways to spend an enchanting, entertaining evening. Try a sunset dinner cruise along the coast with fine food and entertainment and don’t miss a luau at one of the Kona/Kohala resorts. Live dangerously and try some traditional Hawaiian foods including poi (mashed taro root), and enjoy the captivating music and hula of a Polynesian show. Take a walk on the beach under the moon or sit in a hot tub and stare at the stars. Nightlife is whatever you can imagine on this lovely, quiet isle.
