Love Stories of Hawaii – Never Say Never

Second Chance Love
Semper Fi
Dedicated to Stanley J.

Semper Fi or Always Faithful is the Marine Corps motto.

Stanley, my first love, was always faithful to me when he entered the Marine Corps in 1983, at the age of 18. Stan was stationed in Oahu, Hawaii. I, on the other hand, was 17 and so hurt that my love and I would be apart for four years that in typical 17-year-old fashion, I decided to date other people to try to prove that I really didn’t care that he left.

When Stan returned on leave he discovered that I was seeing other people and decided not to tell me that he had set up an apartment for me and was intending to ask me to marry him . . . we went our separate ways for close to 25 years both of us retaining a special place in our hearts for each other.

Fast forward to 2007, the stars realigned and our paths have crossed once again. We dusted off our photos, letters and memories that were kept hidden for so many years. Now in our 40’s we realize that our pure love has indeed transcended time. We were engaged within weeks of reuniting and surprise! we are now expecting a child.

Our family and friends are absolutely thrilled that we are finally getting married because as they are now so quick to tell us – we always knew that you belonged together.

We would love to complete this fairy tale ending by picking up where it left off, in beautiful and romantic Hawaii. After all, Aloha doesn’t just mean goodbye . . .
