Being a California “Surf Bum”, I spent every waking moment of my youth dreaming of the warm sea, swaying palms and endless sun that only Hawaii could offer. Little did I know then that I would be in my early twenties before I got to experience what I knew to be the most magnificent place on earth. Little did I know that my first trip to the islands would not only prove my dreams a reality but would also be the beginning of my lifelong romance with my wife.
Linda and I met in Maui on our first evening in the islands. Both of us unwinding and neither of us looking for a relationship. The MAGIC just happened. We still can’t explain how we danced together once and spent the next seven days experiencing Hawaii and each other like we had been friends for years. We discovered our homes were only thirty miles from each other in California which we knew had to be a sign.
When we returned from our very amazing vacation, we started spending every day together. We fell in love so fast and so deeply that we married six month later and honeymooned for two weeks in Kauai, Maui and Kona. We then returned home, sold everything and moved to the Big Island.
After eight years we returned to California but have to visit Hawaii every year. Our MAGIC is now 24 years and getting better every day. How could we miss? Look where we started.
