![]() Halona "Eternity" Cove
Thinking about re-creating that famous kissing-in-the-surf scene between Burt Lancaster and Deborah Kerr in From Here to Eternity? The scene was shot in Honolulu (Oahu) at Halona Cove, also known as Eternity Cove, adjacent to Hanauma Bay. This little hidden beach is tucked in between Halona Point and Halona Blowhole look-out. In addition to canoodling in sand, the beach is also good for swimming and snorkeling--but only when the sea is calm and gentle. Do not attempt to swim in rough waters. To get to Halona Cove for your romantic interlude, take Kalanianaole Highway ten miles east of Waikiki to the Halona Blowhole parking lot. There is a path down to the beach on the right side of the parking lot. (Photo: Sony Pictures) © Best Places Hawaii, 1995-2008. All rights reserved. |
