 Make Your Vacation Worry-free Electrically1. Turn off your water heater if you plan to be away for a couple of days or more. When you return home, you will have hot water shortly after you turn your heater back on.2. If you plan to be away for more than a couple of weeks, empty, clean, and turn off your refrigerator. Prop the refrigerator door open to keep it smelling fresh. 3. If turning off your refrigerator isn't convenient, remove highly perishable food and reset the temperature to a warmer setting. 4.
