Valentine's Car Accident Makes
Hawaii Dreams Come True

Honolulu, HI - January 31, 2003 - Best Places Hawaii, home of The Hawaii State Vacation Planner (www.bestplaceshawaii.com) announces the arrival of one of the Grand Prize Winners for its 2002 "Love Stories of Hawaii" promotion. Winner Mandy Radzinsky and her significant other Martin arrived to a lei greeting at Honolulu Airport on January 20, 2003. They stayed at the Castle Resorts & Hotels' Hawaiian Monarch Hotel in Waikiki.

When asked what compelled her to enter the "Love Stories of Hawaii" contest, winner Mandy Radzinsky of Montreal, Canada reported, "My year 2002 was not the best year. I had a bad car accident and all I could think of was Hawaii to cheer me up when I was down. My story was a fantasy about something we could never afford." Mandy is a cafeteria worker at the Montreal Casino and her boyfriend Martin is a construction worker.

Thanks to Mandy's storytelling skills, she and her boyfriend of 6 years, Martin, finally experienced the real paradise of the Hawaiian Islands. Mandy based her winning story "Life's Little Wonders" on fantasies she dreamed during her accident recovery. She imagined Martin creating a scavenger hunt for her which, when completed, spelled the word H-A-W-A-I-I, resulting in a surprise Hawaii trip.

The annual contest begins, ends, and restarts every Valentine's Day, February 14th. Each year, Best Places Hawaii selects two winning love stories, each to receive a Grand Prize: round trip air-travel for two, a seven-night stay, rental car use, and a candlelight dinner, all provided by Pleasant Holidays and The Idea Travel Company. To enter, a contestant simply submits an original, G-rated love story of 100-500 words containing the word "Hawaii." Stories can be submitted online at the Hawaii State Vacation Planner website (www.bestplaceshawaii.com) or via regular mail at Love Stories, 1351 Kuhio Hwy., Kapaa, HI 96746. Official Rules and all the details are on the website or can be obtained by mailing a self-addressed stamped envelope to Love Stories, 1351 Kuhio Hwy., Kapaa, HI 96746.

On the website, visitors can submit their own love stories and read love stories from others in a dozen different categories including First Love, Long Distance Love, Romance, Second Chance Love, Secret Love, Summer Romance, Timeless Love, First Meeting, Holiday, Special Occasion, Marriage, and Wedding.
