She is comfortable, sparking clean and a delight to enjoy on a warm and sunny Maui day. Much more spacious than most boats, the Leilani is U.S. Coast Guard certified for a maximum of 49 passengers, but capacity is routinely limited to much less in the interest of passenger amenities, comfort and service.

Leilani is a designed for fun and relaxation and delivers it several times week. The tours begin at Ma’alaea Boat Harbor with the smiling crew greeting you with an assortment of fruit muffins, banana bread, seasonal berry loaves, served with fresh fruit platters, Kona Coffee and orange juice.

The upper deck has seating for 20 passengers and is the location of choice for those who want to breathe in fresh air and enjoy the views of Maui’s south shore as 50’ Uniflight motor yacht leaves for the open ocean towards one of Hawaii’s most beautiful Marine Preservation Areas. Once the crew lowers the sea ladder and weighs anchor at Molokini, professional sanitized snorkel equipment and a variety of floatation devices including boogie boards with windows made available. Several sizes and types insure that everyone will have a perfect fit. First timers can be confident that along with instruction and close monitoring even the most ocean-shy and kids will have an enjoyable time.

Molokini offers snorkelers over 100 feet of clarity and the same in fish varieties. Snorkelers often spot a variety the bright yellow butterfly fish including the Kika Kapulauhau or the teardrop butterfly known for a large white and yellow fish with a black spot, the Lau Wiliwili-Nukunuku-Oioi, or the yellow long nose butterfly. There are also many triggerfish including the Hawaii state fish the Humu Humu Nuku Nuku Apua’a also known as the rectangular triggerfish.

But the day isn’t over yet. Climb back on board and rinse off at the fresh water shower and get prepared for lunch. Hamburgers, hot dogs and marinated chicken breasts are grilled right on board and are accompanied with side dishes, beverages and homemade white chocolate cookies for dessert.

The second stop comes shortly after lunch. This time in a spot where green sea turtles are plentiful and the coral reef is impressive. Once again, the crew prepares the swimming platform and lowers the sea stairs for more ocean fun at Turtle Town.

Next is a quest for more sea life, this time in search of dolphins or during the months of December through March, dolphins and humpback whales. The crew opens the bar and thirsty adults can enjoy premium signature cocktails, draft beer while anyone can enjoy cold beverages. It’s the perfect time to enjoy the spacious main cabin with large windows that provide an abundance of panoramic views and fresh breezes, cushioned seating and shade for those who prefer respite from the sun.

The day ends as the Leilani heads back to Ma’alaea Harbor after another six-hour ocean adventure. The crew says aloha and passengers take home a day filled with precious memories of their magnificent Maui day.
