Fairytale Hawaii Wedding Dedicated to Jason (my sweetheart) Submitted by Lauren My grandparents were marrried in Hawaii when both of them were stationed on Oahu. The photos of them in their uniforms with big smiles on their faces have always inspired me to follow their example. It was a big job convincing M&D because of the expense so we kept the wedding party small, just immediate family, and had the time of our lives. We rented a large house in Lanikai where everyone could spread out and do their own thing. We made all the arrangments for the ceremony through a wedding planner that we found on the internet. Our house we found by using the recommendations in the Oahu Trailblazer guidebook which doubled as our activity (hiking/snorkeling/surfing) advisor. The actual wedding took place on the beach near Ala Moana Park at sunset and the photographer was sensational. It was part of the wedding planner's package. The reception (everyone got back into their shorts) was at the house, pupus, cake and champagne, real simple. The whole experience brou ht our family together and everyone got to share in our wedding/honeymoon/vacation.
