The Last Time Around Dedicated to My Parents Submitted by Mary I wear a memory for my mother. It's a beautiful pearl necklace that my father bought her in Honolulu, Hawaii. The first I ever knew about this special gift was when I read some journal entries that my dad wrote on their last trip - cruise in the South Pacific. In his journal, he described their anniversary day, all the beautiful sights they had seen in Hawaii, and the enchanted dinner that they shared there. Then he described the necklace that he gave her to celebrate their 50th anniversary. And he said what a beautiful model she (at 71 years of age) was for fine jewelry. It was the last anniversary my parents would enjoy together. Mom passed away just seven months later. They had had a life-time of love, laughter, and happiness. And now the necklace that my father passed on to me reminds me of my mother, of beautiful places, good times, and love that lasts forever.
