Twenty-fifth Anniversary Dedicated to Frank, my dear husband Submitted by Kathy For our twenty-five year anniversary, we wanted to do something special and after much planning we did! We always wanted to go to Hawaii, but at the time we lived in Florida, and we were told by many that these states are similiar, this is so NOT true! After calls to many travel agents, we made our own plans for our anniversay to Kauai, Hawaii! We checked into Lawai Beach Resort on June 22, 1996. There were many magnificant sights on the island like the Wailua River, Opaekaa and Wailua Falls, Kapaa and Kealia Lookouts, the Kilauea Lighthouse, and the Guave Kai Plantation just to name a few places that took our breath away! On our helicopter trip looking over Waimea Canyon, the Grand Canyon of the Pacific, we witnessed many waterfalls, exquistic scenery, and rainbows, signs of good luck. June 26, our anniversay day, took us on the Fenn Grotto Cruise, where we heard "The Wedding Song" and saw the grotto where Elvis got married in a movie. We learned the hula while cruising! The beaches were crystal clear and unbelievable white. Here we saw The Spouting Horn, a small geyser. On our anniversay evening we took a sunset cruise and witnessed a wedding on board! We toped off this romantic Hawaiian vacation with a luau and Polynesian Review, where I received a lai and my husband was chosen to 'swing' on stage! If you want a place to see many sights, have fun, and put romance back in your life, Hawaii is the place to renew and relax!
