Survival Dedicated to Carla Submitted by Anonymous In 1999 my wife, Carla and I were newlyweds. Six months after we married she contracted meningococcemia that put her into septic shock. She was in coma for 10 days and the Doctors only gave her a 20% chance of living. They said if she did survive, there could be brain damage, and other side effects. The doctors did everything they could to help her. That's when they told us it's in God's hands now. My wife is a very strong woman. One of the many reasons I married her. She survived the meningococcemia without any brain damaged. She did have a toe amputated and lost hearing in her right ear. Doctors told her that her recovery time would take 1 to 1 1/2 years. She recovered and went back to work in 3 months. Carla is a wonderful person and I want her to know how much she means to me. I would love to give a wonderful trip to Hawaii to Thank her for all the joy she has brought to my life, not to mention how much I love her
