Almost lost my love, twice Dedicated to Kathy Submitted by Mike It was the fall of 1967 and I was with a friend on a double blind date. When my eyes first fell upon my friends date I said to myself, She is for me. Needless to say she felt the same way and it was my friends first and last date with her. In January of 1968 I was activiated to the U.S. Navy and when I returned home from training another friend had moved in and was trying to date her. I thought if I want to put a stop to this I need to marry her. The first of February 1968 I proposed to her and we were married March 16, 1968. During the next 35 yrs we had two wonderful daughters and talked about going to Hawaii every year. But with the children and college there was never enough money to make our dream honeymoon come true. Then 35 yrs later the nest was empty and off to Hawaii we went for out second honeymoon. That was in 2003 at the end of 2003 I retired from the police department and in Oct 2004 back to hawaii to serinade my lady again. And now its 2006 and in a week back we go again to the most romantic place on earth.
