The gold shadow of the Hawaiian sun brightens her face. She smiles and takes a deep breath. A peaceful silence captures her soul. She raises her paintbrushes to the remembrance of her fallen love. "Hawaii." "Oh so beautiful, the romantic skies." My beloved soulmate." "We shall discover our love again, up yonder." Her inspiration comes from the beautiful garden of clouds above topped with soft ivory, black and brown faces of years gone by. She ponders, what are the faces trying to tell her? She listens, pauses, and understands that they want a peaceful world. The glowing faces have fought battles with the deep passion of heroic soldiers defending their homeland. She closes her gentle brown almond shaped eyes and sees their wounds stenciled on their faces, yet a faint hint of a smile emerges. She hasn't walked in their shoes, but their pain and agony, triumphs and glory linger through her mind. She understands their pain and triumphs of seasons past. She paints a sullen mood of seasonal chaos with a peek of solitude in the background. Her lips slightly parted, she whispers to the faces in the clouds, "a peaceful silence of the calm seas shall come, Happy Anniversary!"
