Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now Dedicated to Lonnie Submitted by Nancy Lonnie and I have been married for 18 years and have four children—2 boys (17 and 15) and 2 girls (9 and 7). We were married very young, and I know a lot of people thought our would never last-mostly due to the fact that I was 18 (he was 25). Also, we were only dating 3 months before we were engaged. One of the songs we had in the wedding was "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" by Jefferson Starship--one of the lines in there is ‘Let 'em say we're crazy, what do they know...' Our other signature song lyrics come from Shania Twain-"You're Still The One"--- Looks like we made it Look how far we've come my baby We mighta took the long way We knew we'd get there someday They said I bet they'll never make it But just look at us holding on We're still together still going strong We have survived Lonnie working second shift for all of our marriage (which is like being a single mom Monday through Friday), behavior problems with a child, and last but not least cancer. I had breast cancer in December of 2002, and the way Lonnie stood by me through that was nothing short of awesome. I have never felt more loved than I did then. I cry as I write this, because my heart pours out with love for him. We did not have the money when we were first married to take a honeymoon, and with all the kids, have never been able to afford a nice one since. We would both love to relax in beautiful Hawaii, but more importantly, renew our wedding vows. We think that they will mean so much more now, than they even did the day we were married, especially the part "through sickness and in health." I am so thankful for him, and I know he is for me, because he shows me EVERY DAY!
