The help of a stranger Dedicated to Ken & Barby Submitted by Anonymous I was in a car accident in Sept 02. I ended up coming to AZ from WA State for medical treatment as well as the warm weather. I had lost everything; my job, business and friends do to my new disabilities. I have had 5 major surgeries and under go medical "treatments" every 5-6 weeks since the accident. As I was new to AZ and did not know anyone but my doctors, I was very alone, and in need of help. I met a neighbor who decided to help me. From the first day Ken drove me we had a connection of friendship. This guy who did not know me reached out to help a stranger in need. He was caring and friendly and different from any other person I have ever met. He is so giving. Ken took care of me through my first surgery and through all of the complications and additional surgeries. He does all of the cleaning, cooking, helps me get dressed and showered, schedules his work around my doctors appointments so he can drive me. He is an absolute dream. I was diagnosed with Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy and Thoracic Outlet syndrome. Cold weather is very painful for me and Hawaii would be the perfect wedding location for us due to the weather and tropical setting, which Ken and I both love. The accident changed my life in 10 seconds, but Ken has changed it for my lifetime. Everything went wrong in my life at one time and Ken was there to help. He can make me smile on my most painful days, he does everything for me literally, and with all my physical disabilities, he fell in love with me and asked me to marry him. I don't know if I could ever thank him enough, I am alive today because of his caring and helping of a stranger. He inspires me by all he has done for me & fate had something to do with it as we are "Ken & Barby". He calls me his angel but he is truly mine.
