Love Stories of Hawaii

First Meeting

If you wish upon a star...
Dedicated to Tj

Submitted by Anonymous

I had just come out of a bad relationship and I was single and living alone for the first in my life. I told myself that I would never rush into a relationship again unless I was absolutely certain that I had met the right person.

Several months had passed and one night while I was lying in bed I stared out my bedroom window as I lay there and saw a falling star shoot across the sky. I decided to make a wish but instead I made it a prayer. I whispered, "God, the next time I am in a long-term relationship could you please make it last forever with someone who loves me as much as I love them and vice-versa? Then I dozed off to sleep.

The next day I ran into my old high-school friend, Julie that I hadn't seen in almost ten years. She stated that she and some friends were going to go out to a nightclub the following night and asked that I should join them. I told her yes.

The next morning I woke up and felt achy and chilly. I checked my temperature and I had a fever. I began coughing and sneezing. I took some cold medicine and went back to sleep in hopes that I would be better that evening. By eight o'clock I was in worse shape but somehow I felt compelled to meet Julie. I drank some juice, took vitamin C and headed out to the club.

When I arrived it was raining. I kept my trench coat on inside because I was still chilly. As I looked around the club for Julie I noticed a beautiful woman sitting at a booth across the dance floor, on the other side of the room.

I couldn't keep my eyes off her. She had an aura about her. She had long blonde hair and the most beautiful face. Just then Julie walked up and greeted me. We talked for a while and then I asked her where her friends were. Just then, she pointed to the table where the gorgeous woman was. I immediately suggested we join them at their table. That was 12 years ago and we are still together. I have met the person I want to spend the rest of my life with.

So it just goes to show that when you wish upon a star and pray your dreams do come true.

The stars out tonight look bright and I think I will make a new wish. "God, since we have made it this far, could you please, somehow arrange for us to go on a trip to Hawaii"?
