The Time Has Come
Dedicated to My Finace

The Time Has Come
The Day Is Near

And So Does The Fear

I remember my first trip to Hawaii. I was 14 years old, and my parents took my sister and I to Maui for a summer vacation. Being the young teenager that I was, I didn't want to spend much time with my family. We did the daily sightseeng trips and all, but every night I would go out and walk along the beach by myself. I remember thinking that I can't wait to find my soulmate and one day travel to Maui with him. While walking on the beach, I would constantly be approached by the local guys. I would hang out with them for a while, and then move on and meet other people.

Now, fast forward seven years. I am attending culinary school in Southern California. I decide that it's time to get my first "real" job in the culinary field. I drop off my resume at numerous restaurants, but it just so happens that one restaurant that I went into that day, the owner was there and wanted to interview me on the spot. I surprisingly got the job, wiht no previous experience. Now, being that I was the only female in the kitchen, all of the guys hit on me. All, except for one.

That is the one that I am going to marry. We've been together almost six years now. He was born and raised on the Big Island of Hawaii, but moved to Maui for High School. He has told me stories of him and his friends going down to the beach in Maui and "scamming" on the tourist girls. HE LIVED THERE THE SAME YEAR THAT I VACATIONED THERE. Could he have been one of the guys that I hung out with? I guess we'll never know. It's funny how things work out. We will be getting married June 1, 2006. We are going to have our wedding in Kauai, with all of our friends and family, and then head over to Maui for our honeymoon. I guess if you dream hard enough, dreams really do come true.
