Four to Two Dedicated to My Loving Husband Submitted by Anonymous My first trip to Hawaii was bitter sweet. My husband and I had been saving for our first year and a half of marriage to take a trip to Hawaii on our Fifth anniversary. Just before our second year anniversary, he was deployed with the Marine Corps. He surprised me by asking me to meet his ship in Hawaii. I was so excited and planned a full four days of excursions. When he finally arrived, his stay had been cut short to two days (including his arrival date). We spent almost most of our time in our room because our time together was so short we only wanted to be together - besides that we had a terrific view of the ocean from the balcony of our hotel room! On the second day, we did use our rental car to drive around and see a little of the beautiful island before he returned to the ship. As I watched his ship sail out of Pearl Harbor, I was moved by how many women had watched their loved ones leave from that same harbor. I spent the final two days by myself on the beach. Even though I was alone, I still enjoyed the shopping at the International Market and free hula shows/lesson on the beach. Hawaii was beautiful! I can not wait share every beautiful sunset with him. We look forward to returning and visiting all the islands.
