Our Honeymoon Dedicated to My Husband Dennis Submitted by Susie I planned the wedding. My new husband planned the honeymoon. I had no idea where we were going or what to pack. "Don't worry" he said "whatever we need we can get there." Now I had told him that I was deathly afraid of flying, so I only wanted someplace that we could drive to. We had two whole weeks so I figured that we could get to anyplace in the eastern half of the U.S. without any problems. When we leave the reception, where does he head? You guessed it-the airport. I was a nervous wreck. Between pacing and trips to the restroom, it was finally time to board the plane. My husband did let me choose which seat I wanted - window or aisle. He said we could trade later if I wanted. You know I picked the aisle. I was sitting there with a death grip on the armrests, when my husband took my hands in his and said "close your eyes and listen to my voice. Take a deep breath and I will tell you a story." I smiled feeling a little foolish but ok. I was ready for something like Goldilocks and the three bears. What I heard was a very soothing voice say "When you said that you would marry me I was so happy that I wanted to give you the most romantic honeymoon you could imagine. We are going to Hawaii. There will be moonlit walks along sandy beaches, swimming in the ocean. We can hike to the volcanoes, and tour the pineapple and coffee plantations. They have lava heated pools that we can just be lazy in." He continued to talk in that soothing voice and I finally was able to relax. Flying did not turn out to be so bad after all. I did eventually ask to sit by the window for a while. My husband had thought of everything- the lei greeter at the airport, the double massages by the ocean, the guided tours and plenty of private time. Before I knew it, it was time to board another plane. I was nervous again. Standing in line, I turned to my husband and said " I think I am going to need another story".
