Love Stories of Hawaii

First Love

Long Time Lobe
Dedicated to My Husband

Submitted by Kim

I met my hunsand at fourteen. At seventeen he left for the Navy and was stationed in Honnolulu, Hi. It broke my heart and tore me apart so bad. I thought I was loose him forever. He later sent for me to come over to marry him. My family was very poor, I worked a job saving every penny to go see him. And I did. With him being young and scared, I was only there six months and the responsibilty was to overwelming for him and I came back home. It just killed the both of us to be apart. We were 18 years old at the time. When he came home to Kansas City, Ks, we did get married. We had simple ceremony cost wise. We have come through some very long times of hard times together. We have had 2 children. We always say we want to go to Hawaii to relive the memories we had there and to see where we lived there. My husband also drove a petty cab back in 1979 in Hawaii to make money to eat on. He longs to see the streets again that he once drove down. And we dream of the beaches that we once went to when we were young. We went to places on a bus because we were so poor.We have now been married for 27 years we are childhood sweethearts who have a few snapshots of Hawaii and dream of going there all the time. My husband says that would be the ultimate wedding anniversary.
