Do I Have to Stay in a Hotel Alone Dedicated to My Husband Submitted by Anonymous Approximately 27 years ago, my husband was going to Hawaii for a company meeting. The company, of course, paid for all his expenses. It was noted that he could take a vacation following the meeting, but I, as his wife, could not fly over to Hawaii with him, nor could I stay in the same hotel as he did. To make a long story short, I did fly over with him to Hawaii, but I stayed, alone, in a hotel across the street from the meeting. As husband and wife we had to have secret meetings and were darting back and forth to be sure that we were not caught together. There were several times that he was running up the stairs while I was running down the stairs. Two couples, who had done the same thing, were caught by corporate heads and were fired on the spot. What does this tell you about corporate America 27 years ago. I do not know if this practice is still going on. After the meeting was over and I was reunited with my husband, we went on to have the most wonderful vacation that we had ever had. We visited most of the attractions on the island of Oahu as well as Kauawi. These are some of the most beautiful lands that our country has to offer. From not being together for a week but just across the street enhanced the lovely time we had together while we were in Hawaii. My husband is the love of my life.
