Some of my favorite childhood memories are of our three trips with our father to Maui, Hawaii. We loved Lahaina, and the surrounding countryside. I fondly remember staying at lovely homes and condo rentals, playing under the huge Banyan tree, eating delectable fresh pineapple, parasailing, snorkeling Molokini, making noise with rattle drums, almost touching Humpback whales (!), and simply inhaling the soft, fragrant breezes. When I need to feel close to my two sisters and my dad, I just close my eyes and remember quiet beach moments, shopping for fresh coffee, or fun luaus. I even love my memories of rainy outings and of eating my first big spoonful of poi!
