3 R's:Rememebrance.Reunion,Return Dedicated to John McCarthy/Joyce/Sam the janitor Submitted by Cheryl Aloha Pearl Harbor Kai, My Dream has been for many years to return to place I called home for several years. Entered your gracious doors in 1959 under the principalship of John McCarthy and remained until 1965. I fondly remember JPO and JCP duties; working in the cafeteria ( seems like my time always fell when beanie weenie was on the menu ) and the biggest event was May Day Program. I was never a member of the court but always performed the hula and can still do the Hukelua ( forgive spelling ).In fact when people ask the question where were you when JFK was shot. I can answer that I was part of an excursion at the Planatarian and can remember vividly several of teachers weeping. Needless to say we did not complete our field trip. Due to good, kind, sensitive, educators I also chose the profession to educate. Having continued in my mothers footsteps and kept school pictures, newsletters, and menus. I dearly love the 50th state of Hawaii. My memories are great but would like a second chance to return to relive May Day. Much Love, Cheryl
