A New Beginning Dedicated to Greg Lee Submitted by Anonymous Diana was a young girl who had a difficult life. Her parents were abusive her entire life. They made her feel like she would never amount to anything and, they did everything to ensure it. Diana had other plans though. She vowed she would never let them get the best of her. Growing up in New York City, she was surrounded by the fashion industry which became her first love. At the age of 15, Diana met an agent from Elite. They put her on runways all over the world. One of her first shoots was on Kaanapali beach on Maui. The moment she landed in Hawaii she just knew this was it, this would be her home one-day. After five short days in paradise, Diana had to return home. Her mother had fallen ill with cancer. While in the hospital, Diana saw a strikingly handsome young man who was working as a technician installing speakers in the hospital lounge. His name was Joshua. It was love at first sight. However, it wasn't until another three weeks had passed until they'd meet. They dated for just over a year until she was once again called away. This was the longest she was to be gone. She was to be in Paris for a week and then in Rome for another. After Rome, she had a show in New York City and in LA. Josh just couldn't bare the thought being apart for so long. Knowing Diana's love for Hawaii, he contacted her agent and arranged to have Diana sent back to Maui for "another photo shoot". When Diana arrived on Kannapali beach at the location where her "photo shoot" was supposed to take place she saw no one. As Diana started to walk away, she was greeted by a man who introduced himself as her butler for the evening & walked her to her suite at the Royal Lahaina Resort where her "wardrobe" was. There on the bed laid a white flowing gown with a tuberose/red rose lei. Diana felt like a goddess. She walked downstairs & was greeted by her butler. He escorted her to a single table that had been set up on the beach. Here he left her alone and confused. A moment later, Josh appeared looking as dashing as ever. Diana jumped up & threw herself around Josh. As the sun was starting to set, they walked slowly towards the table. Half-way there, Josh fell on one knee & said, "The past 12 months have been the greatest of my life. What lies ahead of us is scary, but the scariest thing I could ever imagine is not having you by my side. I can't imagine not having you there always. I want to be the reason you go to sleep & wake up happy. You make me feel so complete. Will you marry me?" 14 months later they got married in a beautiful private ceremony in their own backyard, on Kaanapali beach.
