First overseas holiday Dedicated to Husband, Frank Submitted by Mrs In 1999 we were so excited about our first overseas holiday. We flew from Cairns in Queensland to Honolulu. I said I wanted Hawaiian music in the cab to our accommodation and I got my wish. We spent 5 wonderful days exploring the island of Oahu, including USS Arizona Memorial, Diamond Head and much more and met some beautiful friendly people. We then flew to Maui for 2 beautiful days and had our first lu'au which was amazing before flying to the Big Island of Hawaii to spend another 3 days exploring the island. After this we flew back to Honololu and spent a wonderful 3 days staying at a backpackers on the North Shore. Although we were the eldest there by at least 20 years, we were made to feel very welcome and it was a lovely end to an exceptional holiday. What a lovely friendly race of people. We can't wait to return to the beautiful islands of Aloha.
