A Covenant @ Princeville Dedicated to Rock Taviano Submitted by Janelle Today....Rock and Janelle Taviano We are renewing a covenant you made in front of God twenty-five years ago today...In Lima, Ohio. Twenty-five years means.... Perseverance - not perfection. A Way that's been tested A way that has worked for Rock and you, Janelle. It has been a result of your determination, But, the result of God's faithfulness. You have found the meaning of your lives, or in the deep falls. But, in believing in God's will and God's purpose in your lives. Believing in a God you've never seen Serving a God who hasn't given in to your every whim. Trusting a God who has gotton you through the first twenty-five years.... With each other and your boys...Gabe and Tug. We look back at where you have came from: *Going together since sixth grade *An early marriage at ages 18 & 20 *A "have to" marriage by the worlds view *All your parents have done for you *Gabe being hit by a car on the day of Rock's brother's funeral *The death of your mom,dad and brother Tim & Joe , Rock. * The death of your Uncle Boogie, Janelle *School years with your boys *Providing a costly Christian education and college. *Rock,you working hard all your life to provide *Janelle, you serving God in what ever He told you to do *Tug's chemical imbalance,him losing 33 lbs. in 3weeks, almost losing a son. *Your sons marriages...to Angie and Marla *Grandparenting Livi and Morgan..on the way *Renewing your vows today in Hawaii..on this cliff. Rock is there something you'd like to say Janelle is there something you'd like to say Rock, place your ring on Janelle's finger as a symbol to God Himself to be comitted to her until you are face to face with Him. Janelle place your ring on Rock's finger as a symbol to God Himself to be comitted to HIm until you see Jesus Christ face to face. Rock you may kiss your wife.... The bride you kissed twenty-five yeasr ago today... Let's pray.... These words were a covenant made on about a 300 foot cliff on the north shore of Kaui at Princeville. The warm strong breeze blowing staight south... Long grass...to stand in with our barefeet... Rock's long hair blowing..... Janelle holding one bird of paradise, only to throw it on the ground...to intensely hold Rock's strong hands. The pastor....gotten over the internet...was from no place other than Van Wert, Ohio. The city Janelle's grandmother lived in. They couldn't believe it...but it added so much to the layers and layers of the truly deep meaningful day in their lives. Before, there was no professional photographer... just Rock and Janelle in their rented amaziing... romantic condo. Shooting shots of each other... laughing and anticipating their moment. Spending hours to get ready...Rock in one bedroom. Janelle in the loft bedroom. Rock making sure every long curl was in place. Janelle doing her eyes exactly how Rock loved to look into them. Then...through the open loft.. Close your eyes Rock.... He did... and down the stairs she came. "Quincy"...as only they call each other. and the stillness she anticipated was there. the kiss, the deep hug....the moment that she had planned and traveled for....was more than she had expected. Rock looked like the rugged man she admired, yet beutiful and gorgeous and handsome in a tropical kind of way. Hawaii.... added the whisking romance that no where else could place. Walking across the meadow to the cliff. Taking two bamboo mats. They walked hand in hand to the exact point they wanted. Combing the Island to find, "their" perfect spot. Not the norm...but a secluded, intense, straight drop off...to a magnitude ocean that only Hawaii could expound with. Blue sky, the unreal shades of blue in the water...the warm strong breeze, the cliffs that added a dramatic that a strolling beach could not. Rock and Janelle's twenty-five years had been the exact picture that Hawaii presented to them. Romance ~ Yet rugged Beauty ~ Yet tears Sereneness ~ Yet crashing waves With that back drop..... the two lost themselves with each other Not seeing any of it.... but being totally saturated with their love for each other. No one else was their... The preacher, Rock, Janelle and the Lord. That is how they had planned it... For Janelle with tears running down her face... said, no one else knows what it took for us to be here today. Except you Rock and the Lord. And for that.....I will carry this day to my grave. A Covenant in Hawaii A Covenant for a lifetime A Covenant for eternity. The plane ride home....the two in each others arms on the plane. Janelle looking down at her newly placed "eternity ring" of diamonds.... with an overwhelming feeling of love. The man she loved all her life... loves her now ~ more than ever. Hawaii was the backdrop Love was the covenant.
