Hawaii and my children
Dedicated to My children
Submitted by Stanley
Coming to the land of Aloha over and over again is more than pleasure, it is arriving to Shangri-la.
It is the first word out of my children's mouth when we ask," where are we going for our vacation? "HAWAII they yell!"
The reasons are in the photographs we had taken of my daughter and son. She had her arm around her little brother's shoulder. Given freely with love and protection. The impact of the shot was not realized until I saw the print.
The captivating look that my children had, in seeing the short luau show at the Sheraton on the beach while we had dinner, is priceless. Two small heads peering above the wall trying to see what was happening.
Where else can we get to sing songs on the bus and make fun of the other buses on the way home from the Polynesian Cultural Center.
My son at 4 years could not swim but was able to do so with a snokel. The mask and breathing tube gave him confidence to stay in the water. How funny he looked when he couldn't swim without it.
My daughter at 13 had taken up golf at my request. We hooked up with another friend and played at the Waikoloa Kings course on the Big Island and what a thrill it was that she shot 100. The most surprising person was my friend who invited us. He knew that she had never played on a 18 holes before and that for her to do that was incredible.
Hawaii, there are many first to be experienced here. Don't let it slip away!
