How We Got Hooked on Hawaii Dedicated to My Children Submitted by Mary About a year ago, my husband and I visited Hawaii for the very first time. When we got to Hawaii, we fell head-over-heals in love with Hawaii. What a difference it was from living relatively close to one of the largest cities in the world! The air and water was clean, the sky was clear blue, and we could see many stars out at night (something we weren't used to). The people were kind and hospitable...and there seemed to be little or no threat of crime from what we could gather. It truly was paradise. Very often, my husband and I will be sitting in our car in heavy traffic and play Hawaiian songs. My husband will say, "It's time to go to Hawaii again"...and we often talk about our plans of retiring in Hawaii. We can think of no other place that we would like to vacation on a regular basis except for Hawaii.
