A Dream Come True Dedicated to My Husband, Wayne Submitted by Donna Hawaii has always been a place I have wanted to visit ever since I was a little girl. I listened to Hawaiian music, watched movies related to Hawaii, even wrote a paper in sociology in college on the Hawaiian Gods. After 25 years of marriage, we had the opportunity to go on a trip to Hawaii. Now...you have to realize that my husband hates to fly. Since he was discharged from the army in 1971, he has not flown. We went on our honeymoon to Boston on a train. When you are in love you will put up with anything. Wayne agreed to go after a tearful plea by me. With the help of Jack Daniels, we made the flight to Hawaii. I never thought it would be able to meet my expectations. The people and the islands more than exceeded my dreams. We had a wonderful time. Our last night on the balcony of our room, he presented me with a silver ring of plumeria. We both stood teary eyed looking at the sunset that we knew would be our last.
