Marriage

Pure Bliss
Dedicated to The Lord of my Love, Nathan

Submitted by Jessica

I believe we were born to be together,
And together we shall be forever.
Your love has given me wings
And our journey begins today.
I have dreamed my whole life,
of having a husband as kind and gentle as you,
who loves me exactly as only you can do.
I give myself to you as your wife,
I promise here to treasure you for all of my life;
And cherish forever the promises of love we vow today.
You are my best friend and Lord of My Love,
I ask that you be no other than yourself;
As I love you for all that you are,
And for all that you will become.
I promise to love you in laughter and in tears,
In conflict and tranquility,
I promise to be forever faithful and true.
I will love you and no other,
For today, tomorrow, and forever.

This is a copy of my vow's. My husband and I got married on June 1, 2002 on Ke'e Beach on the island of Kauai. It was indescribably beautiful. We are both college students, and dreamed of honeymooning in Hawaii. My dreams were exceeded when I found out we were getting married in Kauai. I loved the island so much, never in my life had I felt so strong about a place. With the Napolic Coast in the background, the waves crashing over our feet, and the minister saying our vows in Hawaiian I felt as if I were in a fairytale, a true princess. We live in Kansas so there is nothing remotely close to a huge mass of water around us. There was something about the ocean, the island of Kauai, that just made my day so magical. We went from beach to beach, but when I talk about the sunset on Ke'e beach my eyes tear up, and I am speechless, it was so beautiful. It was truly heaven on earth. My husband and I are not the richest people in the world, but when we were in Kauai we felt like a King and Queen. Our love was defintely reborn while visting Kauai. It is almost hard to put into words how serene we felt. Every night I would fall alsleep embraced in the lord of my love's arms, listening to the waves rhythmically crash against the shore, for the first time in my life, I felt pure bliss.
