Back To School Blues Dedicated to Youg Romantics Submitted by Bethany When I was 18 I was dating a guy who didn't have any money, was in a band, and was just kind of roaming through life. A lot of people wondered why I dated him, and thought he was a looser with a bad attitude. Of course I saw something else in him. He was fun and I had a good time when I was with him, I mean he wasn't the love of my life or anything but I really enjoyed dating him. I had dated him for about month towards the end of summer. Summer was coming to a close and I was going back to school and was sad that I wouldn't be seeing him anymore and the fact that I wasn't able to go to Hawaii with my friends that summer because I couldn't afford it. Well, on my last night of being with him before I had to leave for school, to my complete shock he had reconstructed a candle lit hawaiian beach picnic in his room; complete with blow up palm trees, chritmas lights and tea lights hung throughout, a beach blanket and shells on the floor, and a picnic basket full of pineapple, mangos, tangerines, grapes, assorted cheeses, baguette, and wine. It was probably the most romantic thing a guy had ever done for me back then. I think the best part was it was so unexpected, I mean he just did not seem like the kind of guy that would do something like this. Even though time passed and we lost touch, I will always remember that night and how special he made me feel and for that I will always be thankful.
