Love Stories of Hawaii

Hawaiian Themed Wedding
Dedicated to Matthew Shawn Ralph Wilson

Submitted by Francelyn

Matthew & I have decided to tie the knot at Sam Choy's Hawaii at the Bali Hai restaurant in San Diego. Since it was a Hawaiian restaurant, we have prepared a wedding to remember. I have selected a Hawaiian print materials for my bridesmaids & flower girls dresses & Matthew had chosen to wear the traditional wedding shirt from my Filipino culture which resembles the Hawaiian shirt.

We have decided not to have a traditional wedding. We had our invitation specially designed by me, having a fireworks paper with invitation written on vellum paper on top. We also have spoken with family & friends to specifically wear Hawaiian print clothing on our wedding day.

On the day of our wedding, the 4th of July year 2002, the wedding was beautiful performed by his uncle. The whole wedding was colorful & everybody was so relaxed for not wearing a tie or silk dresses, all had a blast. Even now that it has been 3 weeks after the wedding, family & friends still contact us & tell us how unique & beautiful the day & that we knew how to throw a party!

Matthew & I were so glad that all the planning was over & we were looking forward to go to Kauai for our honeymoon. It was a beautiful island, just I always pictured how Hawaii is supposed to be.
