Pat, Me and Molokai Dedicated to Yvonne Submitted by James In 1984 my wife, Yvonne, was scheduled for a business trip to San Diego, I was to take off from work and join her for a few days after her business was completed. The business conference was cancelled. She asked me what I thought about going to Hawaii since we'd never been there and we had the time off. I relented and we went to Honolulu. While in Honolulu we were approached by a gentleman in our hotel that wanted to tell us about the island of Molokai (and to sell us a time-share at a Molokai resort). We agreed to visit the island at their expense and was so impressed with the "laid back" style of living that Molokai offered that we purchased the time-share. From 1984 to 1989 we second-honeymooned on the island of Molokai. Yvonne died of cancer in 1990 and I stopped going to Molokai (my grown kids used our time-share). In August of 1999 I met the second love of my life named Pat. You guessed it - we have been going to Molokai every year since. Pat loves the island as much as Yvonne did and I'm a happy man again.
