Hawaiian Redemption Dedicated to Angela Submitted by Paul We went to Hawaii to unwind, to take a break, to recuperate after years of working too many hours, through too many holidays. We expected to feel rejuvenated; we didn't expect that we would find ourselves. Our relationship had always been good, but it had been a while since it had been truly great. Kauai was more than we could ever have expected. More scenery, more beautiful ocean views, more picturesque beaches, more lush vistas - more. On our third day on the island we were returning to our cottage on the beach after a day at Waimea Canyon. We were in no rush to get back as everywhere we turned there was another beautiful sight to see, another sun-drenched Kodak moment to enjoy in the warm tropical air. We took a wrong turn and found ourselves on a deserted beach, alone with the tide, the sunset, and each other. We looked at one another and smiled - it hadn't felt this way for a very long time. We held each other and knew that this is what love was supposed to feel like. I wanted to hold on to her forever, letting the tide roll softly over our feet as the sunset illuminated the horizon. We went to Hawaii to unwind. We never left.
