Palm Tree Christmas Dedicated to The Myers Boys Submitted by Debbie "Summer in Hawaii, you have got to be kidding" "Palm trees and beaches, what about Christmas trees and Santa Claus" I asked. My husband thought he would surprise me with tickets to Hawaii for Christmas. As you can tell, I wasn't happy with the thought. I wanted snow and freezing temps, a big roaring fire and a flannel blanket to snuggle in. Never in my wildest dreams did I think Christmas was about Palm Trees and surfing. " I think you have lost your mind" I wanted to shout. " Why" he responded back with a look of bewilderment on his face. "Hawaii is awesome, nothing like a bikini to make Santa smile" This debate went on for hours. I could tell I wasn't going to win. So three days later we where on a plane to the land of sun and surf. I have to admit, it was incredible. I could see the beaches from the plane. Everyone was tan and dressed in shorts and bathing suits. We arrived at our hotel and I was really impressed. It was amazing and very tropical. My husband, ever the romantic promised it would a Christmas I would never forget. I was hoping he would live up to this promise. Christmas day finally arrived, we had a great beakfast in the hotel dining room, and walked along the beach. However, so far I wasn't impressed with the "Best Christmas" ever. When we got back to our room, my husband had me close my eyes. I heard the door open and then I heard the most amazing music ever. Christmas carols that sounded so beautiful. Like nothing I have ever heard before. I opened my eyes and before me stood the most amazing Christmas tree I have ever seen. It was decorated with small white angels and mulicolored oranaments. Underneath the tree were so many presents. They were stacked to the ceiling, and Santa Claus, he was there too. My husband smiled and kissed my face. "See, I promised you the best Christmas ever." I couldn't believe it, I thought I was dreaming. Four days later we flew home, to the snow and freezing temps. I hope to one day go back for Christmas, but until then I still have my plastic Palm Tree to remind me of Christmas in Hawaii.
