36 Years and Counting. Dedicated to My wonderful parents. Submitted by Jeannie August1,1964 Billy Ray Jernigan took Iris Faye Landers to be his wife. They didn't go on the dream honeymoon to Hawaii, because Billy's father was recovering from a haertattack. So Iris become the happy little house wife. As Billy got another job,as the oldest son, to help his parents pay the bills they owed. Before Billy could save enough money took take Iris on their honeymoon, they had their first child 2 monthes early. All the saved money had to take care of the child. Iris and Billy just being happy that their child was alive gave up there dreams of going to Hawaii and started their lives as parents. 36 years,5 grown childern,18 grandchildern,3 great grandchildern, later they are still counting their pennies to go to Hawaii.
