My Seize the Moment Friend Dedicated to Diana Jones Submitted by Teresa My Seize the Moment Friend This is not a sexual love story, this is a story of love, respect and a world of "fun" between two married women taking time for them selves, to be better for everyone else in their lives... We lives by a three-word philosophy: "Seize the Moment"... Just possibly, we may be the wisest women on this planet. We target shoot, ride bikes, hike, started a investment club together, and love to sit and cool our heels sipping margarita's...I am 45 years old and she is somewhere in her later 50s, I have lost track... Too many people put off something that brings them joy just because they haven't thought about it, don't have it on their schedule, didn't know it was coming, or are too rigid to depart from their routine. We got to thinking one day about all those women on the Titanic who passed up dessert at dinner that fateful night in an effort to cut back. Together we then starting thinking about being a little more flexible in our daily lives. How many women out there will eat at home because their husband didn't suggest going out to dinner? We make our own plans and "tell" them where we are going, and what we are doing... How often do our kids dropped in to talk, and we sit in silence watching "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" on television? Have you ever called one of your friends out of the blue and asked, How about going to lunch in a half hour? She would most likely gasp and stammer, and say "I can't", "I have clothes on the line"..."my hair is dirty"..."I wish you would have asked yesterday"...One day you may find that she died a few years back and that you never did get to have that lunch together. Life is too short... "Seize the Moment"... what's the worse that could happen...someone see you with dirty hair...clothes dry on the line by them selves... Sometimes we cram so much into their lives, we tend to schedule our own headaches. We live on a diet of promises we make to ourselves, when all the conditions are perfect: We'll entertain -- when we get this place clean... We'll go on that trip when... We'll see ___ someday when... Life has a way of accelerating as we get older. The days get shorter, and the list of promises to ourselves gets longer. One morning, we will awaken, and all we will have to show for our lives is a litany of "I'm going to", "I plan on", or "Someday". I thank my *lucky stars* for "Seize the Moment Friend"... She is always open to adventure and available...we know our husbands will always be there when we get back...and our adventures always bring us back with a whole new perspective and sunny outlook... We always keep an open mind on new ideas...sometimes she thinks I am nuts and just goes along with me...in the end we always ending up laughing... Life has way to many serious sides, laughter lightens the load. Our enthusiasm for life is contagious. We can talk for five minutes on the phone, and then all of a sudden we are ready to trade our bad feet for a pair of Nikes and skip the elevator and run to the Nordstorms 1/2 Yearly Sale. We eat "real" ice cream...you might as well apply it directly to our hips with a spatula and forgo the digestive process...Thank the Lord for Weight Watchers, which I work for one day a week to, "Keep On Track"...One time we stopped bought a double decker...if my RAV 4 had hit one of those Darigold dairy trucks we have a lot of around here...at least we would have died happy. So now do yourself a favor...and go on and have a nice day...but... Do something you WANT to...not something on your SHOULD DO list. If you were going to die soon and had only one phone call you could make, who would you call and what would you say? What are waiting for...DO IT!!! Call your best friend and GO DO SOMETHING TOGETHER!!!!! My Seize the Moment Friend and I have a dream for a Hawaii adventure that we are saving for...I stumbled across this web site and saw "Win a Free Romantic Hawaiian Vacation"...what have I got to lose by sharing my thought about my best friend, I thought to my self...if we win we will add the word "adventure" to the romance of the Hawaii Islands...and return to our hubs as real "Happy Campers"... (parts taken from National Friendship Week)
