A Love Story for the New Millenium Dedicated to My Parents Submitted by Rachel It's 11:59 pm with fifty-nine seconds to go. You and your boyfriend of two years are in New York City at Times Square watching the ball drop slowly into the new millenium and century. "Thirty, twenty-nine, twenty-eight...," as you chant along with thousands of others there, you notice your companion besides you is not chanting. Instead he is pale, and fidgeting very much. He has torn his party whistle into pieces. You think it's just the excitement of the crowd. Then as you chant ten, nine, eight, your love drops down to his knee and holds up a flyer of Hawaii. He says, "How does Hawaii sound for our honeymoon. That is if you'll marry me," he takes out the most beautiful ring you've ever seen and asks, "Will you marry me?". Tears spring into your eyes as you accept. That night at the hotel you are staying at you and your new fiance decide to have the wedding two days before Valentine's Day. That way you will arrive in Hawaii on the most romantic day of the year. The end.
