A Dream Come True Dedicated to The Memories of our Loved Ones Submitted by Clara This is a love story of a different kind. Its not the typical love story between lovers, but one about a love between two brothers. My husband, John and his brother Stanley shared a lifetime together. As the two youngest in a family of five, they spent a lot of time together. Growing up, they shared the same friends, played on the same baseball teams and eventually worked at the same steel plant. John and I were married in 1950 and raised ten children. Stan never married. He lived downstairs in our two family house with his parents. After my mother-in-law and father-in-law passed away, he continued to live in the same house. John and Stanley remained best friends. They shared the same interests in many ways. Being blessed with good singing voices, they utilized their talent, and belonged to various singing choirs together. My husband and I lived a happy life, even though we've never had the "luxuries". We could only dream of spending a vacation in Hawaii. I used to love to watch Magnum PI, just to see the scenery. It was no secret of ourlonging to see the Islands of Hawaii, it was our dream. With that in mind, Stan surprised us with a trip to Hawaii on our 40th Wedding Anniversary. Our dream had come true. Unfortunately, Stan passed away two years ago and he is sadly missed. He was a truly generous, unselfish man. As we prepare to celebrate our 50th Anniversay next month on March 4th, it saddens me that Stan will not be present, but he has given us a gift that we will cherish all the days of our lives...a fulfillment of a lifetime dream...to see Hawaii.
