A Musical Romance Dedicated to Dace Anderson Submitted by Terra We met at a music store, and from the moment I laid my eyes on him, I knew. His blue eyes were like the ocean beaches of Hawaii. Crisp and clear, as though he had a plan for his life. I melted when he looked at me. I was giddy like a teenager, with the mere thought of his name. Dace, an unusual character. A man with a heart of gold, always concerned with doing what he knows is right. Never does he walk on his fellow man for his own benefit. Continues to shock me with his compassion for music. He has mastered the art of guitar and sweeps me off my feet with his serenades of the classics. A true gentleman, with honor in reguards to how he treats people. He works hard to make sure he is taking care of his responsibilities. He asked me to be his wife on New Year's eve, 1998. I accepted and we were wed on January 26, 1999. A small wedding on the dock in Kirkland's waterfront. I rented my dress from a local costume shop, he borrowed a suit from his brother. A friend performed the ceremony and, with the calm waters below our feet, we were married. I cried tears of happiness, knowing I had found the man in my dreams. This man was the same one I had asked God for. I remember writing a letter asking specifically for a prince who fit his description, sealing it in a bottle, and throwing it in the same lake we were wed over. The same lake I look at from my kitchen window. These waters hold the flowing love I have for him. After we were wed, life continued to carry us in its various directions, and now, it has been a year since we made our vows to each other. While the time has passed quickly and has brought to us many blessings, I selfishly admit that I have one regret. We have not been able to afford to go on the honeymoon we originally planned. We often discuss the visions we have of ourselves laying on the sandy beaches of Hawaii, a tropical paradise I have not yet visited. While we are living a comfortable life and don't have much to complain about, it would be a dream come true for us to take some time off and enjoy each other in the place where time goes a little slower. Life seems to always pass by so quickly. What a blessing it would be to have our honeymoon in Hawaii. A memory to be forever lasting, for a couple deeply in love with each other.
