Love Stories of Hawaii

Special Occasion

My Maui Millennial Mission
Dedicated to my wife - Karen

Submitted by Daniel

It seems to be written there in the stars. It's the New Millennium, it's our twentieth anniversary, we can arrange for our children to spend time with relatives they want to, but rarely see, and my love for her continues to grow. We really didn't have a honeymoon. I was in the Navy, and was being transferred to a new duty station. When I received my discharge from the Navy, my wife worked while I went to school. After school, as I became settled in my new career, we took the opportunity to have a family. We were both involved in rearing our children during their early years, and even now my wife works a job that allows her to arrive home when our children so she can be there to support them. We have always been a team, but it seems to be my wife who always makes the sacrifices. She placed her dreams of scholarships and school on hold to support me, and it was her sacrifice that allowed our children to continue to have a full and active home life. It seems that the least I can do is take this opportunity to let her know how much I appreciate her presence in my life. My wife is more beautiful than the day I met her. What few wrinkles and gray hairs she has are a direct result of her love and commitment to me, and I love each and every one of them. They are a record of the times we have laughed and cried together, of the times we have toiled or tarried. At times I feel like I am following her around like a puppy, with the hope that she will continue to shower me with her love. She never disappoints. If anyone deserves the opportunity for a vacation to Hawaii, it is my wife. She seems to embody the essence of the islands: beautiful to gaze upon, with an infinite amount of variety and capable of eliciting immense depths of emotion from all who encounter her. She can be as fiery as the volcanoes, or as cool as the forests. She is as strong as the ocean waves that pound the coast or as delicate as the rare flowers that hide there. She and Hawaii seem to have been cut and polished from the same stone by the same master craftsman. I love my wife, and I want to do something special for her. Please consider my request for the free Hawaii vacation-it is something I can give to someone who has given so much to all those around her.
