A Cheeseburger in Paradise
Dedicated to Greg, forever yours
Submitted by Frankie
I have met the most romantic man on the face of the earth! His name is Greg. Greg was a co-worker of mine and we frequently e-mailed each other concerning our client base.
One day, Greg e-mails me and asks if I would have lunch with him in a couple of weeks? I got so excited. I couldn't believe it. He was so nice, respectful and handsome. I said "Sure!" and wondered - why not now or this week sometime?
The next day I received an e-mail from him asking if I had ever eaten at Cheeseburger in Paradise. I told him no and he said "Great! That's where I'm taking you."
I never thought to look up the restaurant. I hadn't lived in Las Vegas that long and just presumed it was here in town. He didn't say another word about it for the next week and then I received an e-mail with a hyperlink to the website for Cheeseburger in Paradise. Oh my God, it was in Hawaii. I e-mailed back after catching my breath and told him that wasn't funny! I had never been to Hawaii and this was the ultimate joke on me. I had always wanted to go to Hawaii. You know how you say someday "I will make it there..." just hoping you're still young enough to enjoy it.
He e-mailed back and made it clear that he wasn't joking - he could never do something so cruel. He had already purchased the tickets and we were to leave in 8 days. "I hope you can get the time off", he said. I told him that I would quit my job if I had to! Oh my god, I had so much to do!!! Packing, what do you wear? I don't really know him, but I am the luckiest girl in the world. We flew directly to Maui where Greg had reserved a three-bedroom oceanfront condo at Kahana Sands. It was so romantic.
We had our lunch at Cheeseburger in Paradise and it was wonderful. In fact, we also enjoyed dinner there one evening. Our stay lasted a total of 4 days in Maui and 3 on Oahu. It took the first three days for me to realize I wasn't dreaming.
That was a year ago. We are planning to get married in Maui hopefully in the springtime, providing we have the money saved. Greg decided we needed to share our experience with the 'Brady Bunch' we had formed. In July, we took my daughter and son, his son and his mother all to Oahu for a week. He told all the kids that he would take them only if they promised him that when they had their children that they would take them to Hawaii.
Greg is so awesome and I love him so much for giving me the best experiences of my life.
