Fantasy Island Dedicated to Koji Submitted by Cindy Over 20 years ago, I visited Hawaii for the first time. I fantasized about the adventure in a beautiful tropical island. As the plane was preparing for landing, I looked out of the window, my excitement mounted. The warmth of the tropics and the friendliness of the people were infectious. I met a local boy who guided me to all the hot and unspoiled areas of the island. We became fast friends and I sensed his interest in being more than just a friend. After two weeks of paradise with this "local boy," I had to return home. We promised to write to each other. But we never did keep in touch. Six years later, I returned to Hawaii with my husband. Pregnant and showing, I inadvertently bumped into this "local boy" whom I had met six years earlier. It was at Hanauma Bay that our eyes met after all this time. But we did not speak. That awkward moment has been in my mind for a long time. I would love the opportunity to revisit the magic we had shared and at least to speak again. Hawaii for me has always been about the great memories. The warmth of Hawaii will always be intoxicating for me. I would love another chance to go back and visit Hawaii.
