Love Stories of Hawaii

Our Honeymoon
Dedicated to Frank Ulino

Submitted by Meredith

Our Honeymoon was all I could think of during the planning of our wedding. The one time we would have to unwind, relax, sightsee, and if we chose to, just sit by the pool and do NOTHING.

We decided almost immediately that HAWAII would be our destination. We decided to see for ourselves why they call it paradise.

Our wedding day was September 18, 1993 and the day was perfect. It rained, but supposedly that only means good luck. Our day was memorable, and there is not one thing I would change if given the chance.

As we boarded the plane early the next morning, the excitement was overwhelming. We were finally going on our way.

Our honeymoon was 10 days; 5 days in Maui and 5 days on the Big Island of Hawaii. When we pulled up at the hotel in Maui (Embassy Suites) I thought I had died and gone to heaven. It was breathtaking. The sounds, the beauty and the luxurious hotel were more than I could have ever imagined.

The days flew by and eventually it was time to leave. I was very sad, but promised myself that one day, we would return.

My husband and I will be married 7 years this September, and we have two beautiful children. Two boys, ages three and eight months.

Finances have not allowed us to return to Hawaii as of yet, but there is still hope, that one day, possibly for our 10 year anniversary, that we will return to that beautiful spot I now know why is often referred to as paradise.
