Sunset Hale (House), only 80 steps away from the world-famous Hanalei Bay, has a lovely ocean view. Relax on the large covered lanai (deck) and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, absorbing all Kauai has to offer. Hanalei Bay was judged the 4th best beach in America by Dr. Stephen Leatherman (aka Dr. Beach), based on evaluation of 50 different criteria including quality of the sand and water, water temperature, weather, and many more. You can judge for yourself as you experience the warm Hanalei Bay water, soft tropical breezes, sparkling white coral sand, and puffy white clouds in the blue Hawaiian sky. Sunset Hale is a 1485 square foot single family home located on a quiet cul-de-sac ending at the beach. The home has a large living room with cable TV, a DVD/VCR player, a fully stocked spacious kitchen with modern new appliances, a counter top island bar for indoor meals, a dining room, large master bedroom with a king size bed, two comfortable guest bedrooms with double beds, and two spacious bathrooms. Fully remodeled, the home has a 12-foot cathedral ceiling with floor-to-ceiling windows facing the ocean. Hardwood maple floors encourage guests to leave their shoes at the door and relax. Ocean views are available from almost every room. A glass table with barstool chairs, comfortable furniture, and a gas barbeque adorn the lanai, which permits guests to "live outside" while allowing your senses to enjoy the tropical breezes, sounds, and sights of the sky and surf at the Bay. As comfortable as the home is, some guests find the garden especially appealing. Carefully designed by a professional horticulturist, the garden features over 40 different tropical plants in various hues of green interspersed with bright spots of red, yellow, and orange. Over 15 different tree orchids, ranging from fuchsia to yellow, grow in the trees for our visual enjoyments. Providing a canopy for the garden are various kinds of palm trees including MacArthur palms, Bottle palms, Manila palms, coconut trees, and papaya trees. A typical day consists of waking up to the soothing sounds of the surf, followed by a sunrise walk on the beach and breakfast on the lanai of tropical fruit and juices. After a day on the beach sunning, swimming, surfing or snorkeling, the day winds down as you sip your favorite drink on the lanai and watch the sun set over Hanalei Bay. After a dinner of barbequed fresh fish, you fall asleep to the soft rustle of tropical breezes in the palm trees and the sound of the surf. Amenities: In addition to a fully supplied kitchen (silverware, plates, bowls, glasses, wine glasses, cups, pots and pans, coffee maker, blender, toaster, more), there are bath towels, beach towels, beach chairs and umbrella, boogie boards, hair dryers, cable TV, DVD/VCR in the living room and master bedroom, DVD's, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer, and an outdoor enclosed secluded shower.
