Ride the Rainbow on Kauai! Esprit De Corps Riding AcademySmall group eco-tour horseback trail rides in a lush mountain forest reserve, advanced rides w/trotting and cantering, beginner trail rides incorporating a horse-handling lesson, arena lessons for ages 6 & up, “Dancing Chi to Chi” lessons, Weddings on Horseback. Company Spotlight:
Horseback trail rides, arena lessons, and animal therapies are part of the complete horse experience with horse activities for children and adults. Sustainability, fun, and safety are major themes. We are located on the East side of Kauai (the "Garden Island"), which is the most green and lush of the Hawaiian islands. We offer true eco-tours with knowledgeable guides who willingly share information on our plant and animal life, Hawaii's volcanic origins, history of the islands, and what it is like to live in Hawaii. We lead small group and private horseback trail rides with trotting and cantering into a verdant mountain forest reserve in the interior of the island near Kapaa. Our trail rides range from 2-8 hours long, with longer rides for experienced riders. Beginner trail rides are offered, as well as Spiritual Exploration Rides and Weddings on Horseback. All trail rides start with a mini lesson in the arena to insure safety and fun. We provide and require the wearing of riding boots and helmets. We also provide a pack with bottled water (we recycle), a raincoat, and room for a camera. English and Western lessons in the arena for ages 2 and up are a popular alternative to trail riding. Our Welsh ponies love and are loved by kids, and the well-trained horses can help adults learn, too. Basic skills development, games on horseback, dressage and beginner jumping, an introduction to Healing Touch for Animals, or personal growth through horse interaction are all available. We can recommend other kid-friendly places on the island and can also help you set-up child care on or off the ranch while the adults ride. We are concerned with sustainability, striving to maximize positive while minimizing negative impacts on the aina (land) and kanaka maoli (indigenous people), and are a Hawaii State Na Ala Hele Trails Program participant. Sustainable elements incorporated in our company include buying and hiring locally, recycling, respecting the carrying capacity of trails, and offering education for local children and visitors through lessons, Day Camp, and an Apprentice Program. We participate in parades, local festivals, and parties, highlighting the horse's history in Hawaii while utilizing local students as pony ride helpers. Esprit De Corps Riding Academy is a woman-owned and operated business. Our owner, Dale Rosenfeld, is an active member of HVCB, Rotary, Kapaa Business Association, Hawaii Ecotourism Association, and the American Riding Instructors Association. She is also helping to develop certification criteria for Eco-tour operators in Hawaii, and has helped develop criteria for Eco-tour awards. She has also worked for 8 years on Kauai's Ke Ala Hele Makalae project, creating a multi-use coastal pathway around the island. We offer small group eco-tour horseback trail rides in a lush mountain forest reserve, advanced rides with trotting and cantering, and beginner trail rides incorporating a lesson on handling your horse. Specialties include arena lessons for ages 6 & up, "Dancing Chi to Chi" lessons, and Weddings on Horseback.
