To see it all you must fly and take a boat cruise. A helicopter flight on Kauai is well worth the expense and the best way to appreciate 85% of the island not easily accessible any other way. Waimea Canyon encompasses thousands of acres of spectacular landscape that can only be truly appreciated from the air. Parts of Na Pali Coast cannot be reached by hiking or boat, and the helicopter ride provides the best view of these incredible sheer, verdant sea cliffs. In addition, Kauai is famous for its abundance of gorgeous waterfalls, many of which can be seen only by air. Note: It’s good to reserve a flight early in your vacation schedule, just in case of inclement weather...Book in Advance. For a different activity, paddle up the Hanalei River and then out to Hanalei Bay. Snorkel with turtles & colorful fish; lunch on a secluded beach. Hawaiian family "talks story" while you experience the Hanalei National Wildlife Refuge. Or, paddle up the Wailua River to a trail leading to Secret Falls, where you play in a natural pool below a waterfall. Both of these adventures are great for the whole family. Want real adventure? Take an all day kayak trip down the Na Pali coast that includes sea caves, secluded beaches and great snorkel spots. This challenging trip is only available from May to September. Luaus celebrate your visit to the Garden Isle. None of the luaus are the same. Some visitors actually attend two. Our vacation specialists have attended the different luaus. During the morning cruises you will see dolphins and whales during the season (December to March). Most of the vendors offer snorkeling as part of the package. The Na Pali coast is a geological wonder and must be seen. The afternoon cruises are timed to take advantage of our beautiful sunsets. No snorkeling, but you will enjoy ample pupus, mai tai's, and other tropical beverages.
